Total Miles= 6174
I awoke this morning at a reasonable hour. I called Ruth to be
certain all was fine with the plane and she was on the bus there. She
did say she would let me know when she got to Dallas so I'd know all
was on schedule.
I checked the weather forecast and knew rain was likely. Dave and I
agreed that it would be a wet ride to Hatcher Pass so I decided to
head to Anchorage.
Roger and I had breakfast together and I headed to Anchorage.
My first stop was for the Lake Clark NPS stamp but the office moved 8
months ago to a new location. I found it and got the Lake Clark
stamp.
I then headed to the Public Lands Information office and got the
stamps there. They have a nice visitor center and were starting a
movie about bears. I saw enough of it to know I wanted to see it all
tomorrow.
Upon leaving the vc, I stopped at a street vendor and had a reindeer
sausage. I thought it was pretty good with mustard. The vendor had a
sign saying he wouldn't serve folks that were talking on their cell
phones which I liked.
I then found an AMA GPS site in Anchorage and took the obligatory photo.
Now, all of this was done in the rain. Even though it was gorgeous
last night, it was raining again now. My next stop was the BLM office
for an Iditarod Stamp. I found it and then found a nearby library
that had public internet access for 1 hr time periods so I uploaded
all the photos I had to my pbase account. I'm now sitting in the
library waiting for Ruth's plane arrival in about 4 hours. I guess I
can pack up and head downtown for some Alaskan coffee!
